Terms of Service
Effective date: September 3, 2026
Last updated: September 4, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of TutorHub’s website, mobile application, tutor-matching, booking, payment, progress-tracking, and related services.
TutorHub is operated by TutorHub in Canada. In these Terms, “TutorHub,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to TutorHub.
By creating an account, booking or providing a tutoring session, making a payment, or otherwise using TutorHub, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be legally capable of entering into an agreement to use TutorHub independently.
A parent or legal guardian must create, authorize, or supervise an account used by a child who cannot legally or meaningfully agree to these Terms.
The parent or guardian is responsible for:
- Providing accurate information
- Approving bookings and payments
- Supervising the child’s use of TutorHub where appropriate
- Ensuring that the child follows these Terms
- Communicating any relevant learning or safety requirements
2. TutorHub’s Service
TutorHub helps students and families:
- Find and evaluate tutors
- Request a tutor match
- Book and manage sessions
- Set learning goals
- Track attendance and progress
- Communicate about tutoring services
- Make payments
TutorHub helps tutors:
- Create professional profiles
- Display subjects, qualifications, and availability
- Receive student requests
- Manage bookings
- Maintain session records
- Receive and track payouts
TutorHub may facilitate tutoring services, but tutors remain responsible for the professional quality, preparation, content, and delivery of their sessions.
Unless a separate written agreement states otherwise, tutors provide services as independent professionals and are not employees, agents, or legal representatives of TutorHub.
3. No Guarantee of Academic Results
TutorHub supports structured tutoring and measurable progress, but academic outcomes depend on many factors, including attendance, student participation, tutor suitability, study effort, school requirements, and the time available.
TutorHub does not guarantee:
- A particular grade
- Examination success
- Admission to a school or program
- Completion of a course
- A specific academic improvement
- A particular number of tutor requests or bookings
4. Accounts
You agree to:
- Provide accurate and current information
- Keep your login details confidential
- Use only your own authorized account
- Notify TutorHub promptly about unauthorized access
- Update information when it changes
- Accept responsibility for activity performed through your account
TutorHub may request identity or authorization information when necessary for security, payments, child protection, or legal compliance.
You may not create a false profile, impersonate another person, or misrepresent qualifications, age, experience, or authority.
5. Tutor Profiles and Responsibilities
Tutors must ensure that profile information is accurate and not misleading.
Tutors are responsible for:
- Accurately describing qualifications and experience
- Teaching only subjects they are competent to provide
- Maintaining professional conduct
- Preparing appropriately for sessions
- Keeping availability current
- Attending confirmed sessions on time
- Protecting student information
- Following safeguarding requirements
- Maintaining any licence, screening, insurance, or authorization required for their work
- Complying with applicable tax and reporting obligations
TutorHub may review profiles, qualifications, reviews, complaints, or session records. A profile review does not constitute a guarantee of a tutor’s suitability for every student.
6. Matching and Tutor Selection
TutorHub may consider subject needs, grade level, learning preferences, availability, service location, tutor experience, and other relevant information when suggesting a match.
Students and families remain responsible for reviewing the available information and deciding whether to proceed with a tutor.
A previous successful match or positive review does not guarantee future suitability or results.
7. Bookings and Sessions
A booking becomes confirmed when the platform displays confirmation or sends a confirmation message.
Students, families, and tutors must:
- Attend sessions at the confirmed time
- Provide reasonable notice of scheduling changes
- Use appropriate and safe communication
- Keep contact and availability information current
- Follow the cancellation terms shown during booking
- Avoid moving payments outside TutorHub where prohibited
Online sessions require a suitable device, reliable internet connection, and any software identified during booking.
In-person sessions must occur in a safe, appropriate, and mutually agreed location. A responsible adult should supervise arrangements involving a minor where appropriate.
8. Fees, Payments, and Tutor Payouts
Session prices, service fees, taxes, and other charges will be displayed before payment or confirmation.
Payments may be processed through Stripe or another authorized payment provider. By submitting payment information, you authorize the applicable charges.
Tutors may be required to establish a payment-provider account and complete identity, tax, banking, or compliance checks before receiving payouts.
Tutor payout timing may be affected by:
- Payment-provider processing
- Banking schedules
- Refunds or chargebacks
- Account verification
- Fraud or security reviews
- Disputes
- Legal or regulatory requirements
TutorHub may correct payment errors and recover amounts paid in error, subject to applicable law.
9. Cancellations, Rescheduling, and Refunds
The cancellation, rescheduling, refund, and missed-session rules displayed during booking or in the app form part of these Terms.
Users should review those rules before confirming a session.
Refund eligibility may depend on:
- How much notice was provided
- Whether the tutor or student attended
- Whether a technical failure prevented the session
- Whether the session was cancelled by TutorHub or the tutor
- Whether the service was materially different from what was booked
- Applicable consumer-protection law
If a tutor cancels or does not attend, TutorHub may offer rescheduling, account credit, an alternative tutor, or a refund, depending on the circumstances.
If a student does not attend or cancels too late, some or all of the session fee may remain payable according to the policy shown at booking.
10. Reviews and Feedback
Users may submit honest reviews based on genuine experiences.
Reviews must not contain:
- False or misleading statements
- Harassment or threats
- Discriminatory content
- Private contact information
- A child’s personal information
- Unrelated advertising
- Content that violates another person’s rights
TutorHub may moderate or remove content that violates these Terms, but is not required to publish every review.
11. Communication and Professional Conduct
Students, families, and tutors must communicate respectfully and professionally.
You may not use TutorHub to:
- Harass, threaten, exploit, or discriminate against another person
- Request inappropriate personal information
- Send sexual, abusive, or illegal material
- Circumvent safety or payment procedures
- Pressure a minor to communicate privately
- Share another person’s confidential information
- Promote unrelated products or services
- Engage in fraud or dishonest conduct
Serious safety concerns may result in immediate suspension, investigation, reporting, or termination.
12. Safeguarding
The safety of students, particularly minors, is a shared responsibility.
Tutors must maintain appropriate professional boundaries and comply with TutorHub’s safeguarding requirements.
Parents and guardians should:
- Review tutor information
- Remain involved in the student’s tutoring arrangements
- Ensure that in-person sessions occur in an appropriate setting

You may not reproduce, resell, distribute, modify, or commercially exploit TutorHub materials without written permission.
15. User Content
You retain ownership of content you submit, such as profile information, reviews, messages, and learning materials.
You grant TutorHub a limited licence to host, display, process, reproduce, and transmit that content only as reasonably required to operate, secure, improve, and provide the service.
You confirm that you have the right to submit the content and that it does not violate another person’s rights.

- Hosting providers
- Communication services
- Video or meeting platforms
- Mapping or scheduling services
Third-party services may have separate terms and privacy policies. TutorHub is not responsible for an independent third party’s service, availability, or conduct.
Apple and Google are not responsible for tutoring services delivered through TutorHub.
18. Platform Availability and Changes
TutorHub may modify, suspend, replace, or discontinue a feature where reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, legal compliance, operational changes, or service improvement.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.
Planned maintenance and unexpected technical problems may temporarily affect bookings, messages, payments, or account access.
19. Suspension and Termination
TutorHub may restrict, suspend, or terminate an account where we reasonably believe that:
- These Terms have been violated
- A user presents a safety risk
- Fraud or unauthorized payment activity has occurred
- Information is materially false
- Required verification has not been completed
- The account is being used unlawfully
- Suspension is necessary to protect another person or the platform
Users may request account closure by contacting TutorHub.
Termination does not remove payment obligations, dispute responsibilities, confidentiality duties, or provisions intended to continue after termination.

Where liability cannot be excluded, TutorHub’s liability will be limited only to the extent permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury caused by negligence, or another liability that cannot legally be limited.
